It’s almost 1984…
Not too long ago, I re-read Orwell’s cryptic, scary and quite possibly clairvoyant, 1984. I remember the first time that I read it, it gave me nightmares. Today, it just makes me that much more determined to continually speak out against what’s become of the American government. Although I’ll admit, it still gives me nightmares, too.
In Orwell’s book, the populace was brainwashed. In the book, 1984, the scariest slogan that they are subjected to is that “Slavery IS Freedom”. Everything in their lives is geared to reinforce this and support it. Today’s slogan “Big Brother is Watching” comes from Orwell’s book.
There are camera’s placed behind pictures and in every corner. Even in public homes. The TV’s will no longer turn off and continually play only governmentally regulated programs that are designed to reinforce their “anthems”. Citizens are not allowed to go outside areas that are not regulated by the government. All housing, food, clothing, etc…is regulated by Big Brother.
“War is peace”. Another favorite of Orwell’s fictitious government. “Ignorance is Strength.” Pushed heavily by Orwell’s Big Brother. To write the word, “I”, is against the law in Orwell’s world of 1984.
While we made it past 1984, we didn’t make it far.
Obama and Hillary both push “Universal Health Care”. War is promoted as a means for peace. There’s irony there I’m sure. Michelle Obama is telling women to forgo college because it’s just too expensive. Go into public service work instead. Serve the “common” good. Hillary is telling the wealthy that sometimes things just have to be taken from you to help others out. Every president for the last 40 years, outside Reagan, has had the same agenda as the one before.
The Patriot Act, there’s more irony for you, has taken away personal rights and no one seems to care. The government is spying on perfectly average citizens and no one says a word. After all, it’s just Big Brother. They wouldn’t hurt us. Slavery IS Freedom.
We are forced to give our personal money to Social Security and welfare recipients, whether you want to or not. We are forced to pay into Medicare and Medicaid, whether we receive it or not. We are forced into paying taxes on money that we earn. Regardless of what the original Constitution said the government could do. And no one seems to care.
After re-reading Orwell’s classic work, I had to wonder if he knew something, even then, that others didn’t. Did he know some of the Mason’s or Skulls of his day? Did he get some piece of info that he knew he could never publish, so he worked up 1984 instead? I doubt it. I’m not a big conspiracy theorist. But, I have to admit, we’re getting almost eerily close to what can only be described as an Orwellian future.
Wake up, America. Turn the TV off and get out and change this before the TV will not longer turn off. Oh! That’s right! We’re already going to HDTV’s. Wonder if the definition is high enough for the government to see us clearly? Since they are forcing us to have it, I’d say it’s a strong possibility…

I’ve said it before that the number one problem for America in getting the country back is not enough people are hurting enough and willing to get up off their recliners and unite with others to march on Washington to let them know we are not going to take it any more.
