Gods and Monsters…

Recently, someone suggested to me that I should use all the political information that I can’t seem to stop gathering, to inform others. I think she may have been on to something.

While the American political machine is primarily dominated by two parties, our government actually consists of five active parties. The unknown three are referred to as “third” parties in government language.  Most people are familiar with the Republican and Democratic parties, but few are aware of the remaining three.

The most active third party is the Libertarian party.  The most famous and most current Libertarian, is Ron Paul. Libertarians views are free-trade, non-interventionism in foreign policy, tight border control,  very strong civil liberties and active travel to all countries. This party really looks at the Constitution and wants to follow in it’s footsteps. They desire as little government in people’s lives as possible. Without fail, this is the party that I most closely identify with.  The government has no place in individual lives.

The Green Party is another third party that does occasionally show up on local levels. They push strongly for environmental reform. They also believe strongly in opening the borders because they are all about peace and love.   Frankly, I couldn’t give a crap less how the trees are doing if we’re being pushed into poverty or having to give my money to illegals.

Green houses gases aren’t going to matter if we’re all slaves to a government gone bad.  I’d rather be dead than have them searching my home because they felt like it. So bring on the melted ice!  It’ll wipe out the Kennedy’s, too.  And that’s all I need to know to feel better about it.

The latest addition is the Constitution Party.  The name is somewhat of a misnomer considering that our country was founded for the right to religious freedom. Well, and the fact that the King of England was killing the ones who wouldn’t do things his way.  That’s beginning to sound vaguely familiar here as well….But I digress.

The Constitution Party believes that the Constitution was written from a Bible based platform.  They also believe that the Bill of Rights was as well.  They would see all freedoms of any other religion gone.  That doesn’t sound anything like the Constitution nor Bill of Rights that I’ve read.  But, it’s their right as American’s to believe what they’d like. Ain’t America great?

We have a system of gods and monsters.  We have 5 parties, but only 2 have electorial votes. We have a system designed for freedom that’s being raped by ordinary men and women who have become political and power hungry monsters.  Men and women who view themselves as gods.  Men and women who WE have elected to control everything in our lives.

The government was not and is not intended to be run the way it is running.  The executive branch is taking over the legislative branch and assigns positions to the judicial branch.  The legislative branch is changing the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to the point that they no longer resemble what they were intended for.  And all they while, people who know they are monsters, merely cover their faces and pretend they are still gods…

We have a nation of sheep who has found themselves with a government filled with wolves.  It’s time that we as a people turn and find our way.  There cannot be gods and monsters who rule. There can only be men.  We’ve lost that.  It’s not slogans that we need, it’s action.

Ironically, I’m choosing to end this with a quote by one of the worst President’s to ever sit in office.  Franklin D. Roosevelt said:

“The only sure bulwark of continuing liberty is a government strong enough to protect the interests of the people, and a people strong enough and well enough informed to maintain its sovereign control over the government.”

We have lost our way.

For those of you that don’t understand why I’d say FDR is one of the worst monsters to ever take office:  He is the god of the oval office who implemented stealing your money via Social Security.

I’ll go with H.L. Mencken any day:

I believe that liberty is the only genuinely valuable thing that men have invented, at least in the field of government, in a thousand years. I believe that it is better to be free than to be not free, even when the former is dangerous and the latter safe. I believe that the finest qualities of man can flourish only in free air – that progress made under the shadow of the policeman’s club is false progress, and of no permanent value. I believe that any man who takes the liberty of another into his keeping is bound to become a tyrant, and that any man who yields up his liberty, in however slight the measure, is bound to become a slave.

Resistance is NOT futile.
